I've Read up until chapter six and this book is already very interesting. I couldn't imagine what it was like to be walking down a small grassy path, when all of a sudden, out of nowhere rebels show up with guns pointed at you and are harassing you. Its hard to believe that these young boys need to learn survival tactics to stay alive. No one should live in conditions where rebels can break into you village and home, not knowing when or if they'll shoot. Already Ishmael Beah and his friends are truly brave. They ran for there lives from the rebels, knowing that they could be killed, when just the other day they were singing the rap music they loved.

I've Read up until chapter eleven and I am shocked by what Ishmael has been practically forced into. He has been separated from Joiner and his other friends, and reading this was very sad. He was alone for a while, and all he could do to pass the time was to think. Ishmael's thoughts made himself sad. At Gasemu, his very first reactions of the news of his family was anger, although I'm sure everyone else would feel the same way. This book is starting to become inspiring and very sad, Its hard to believe that other human beings living in other countries let this happen without any thought to intervene.

This book has been an amazing inspiration. A Long Way Gone dissevers more publicity so more people can receive an insight on what horrible things go on in this world. Ishmael Beah is one of the most brave and daring person I have ever heard about. He has gone through more than anyone could want to believe. Ishmael was lucky enough to be given a second chance, and what a great way to inform the rest of the world that there is a hell. Ishmael has been there and back and for what he has been through I respect him for some of the choices he has made.
